Really bad. That's ok right? Both of my mom's parents had bugs. My grandfather had a 59 and my grandmother had a 61.

This type 1 I spotted the other day is for you then.

Don't we all want a bug?

I looked at buying some. They sold before I called or the owners were dicks.

Oh. That's too bad. The karmann ghia is awesome too.

I love those. I also looked at a water cooled van and a 912.

I had a '75 Superbeetle Convertible through High School. Such a great car. Still in the family, just sitting in an airplane hangar on the other side of the country though.
I live on a snowy mountain now at 7,000 ft, and drive a turbocharged AWD car... and I'm seriously considering getting rid of it and replacing it with a 60's hardtop (or a Ghia or a Type 3 Squareback). I miss classic VW ownership. They do surprisingly well in the snow, too!

My dad had two of them. He says you could fix them with a screwdriver and electrical tape.
I wouldn't mind one.

There's nothing like an old bug. I learned a lot from mine, and had a great time doing it. It was so much fun having a car where it felt like I could fix just about anything myself.

What's your turbo charged AWD car? Am Audi?
![]() 07/23/2014 at 14:49 |

No that's NOT ok
JK of course it's ok
![]() 07/23/2014 at 14:50 |

Yeah. That's what's great about them.

The 912 is just a jazzed up beetle. ;)

I know. That is why I wanted it.

I've seen that one around. Its gorgeous! where did you spot it? I saw it when I was Riding on the highline, near quebec street. It was parked in an apartment complex's lot, the complex was just off the highline

Uuughh I want a 912 so bad for some reason.

in Utah, on Utah plates. Must be a lookalike.
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:14 |

LOL But instead you bought a Fiesta. Also we have very different budgets.
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:15 |

Same color, same rims, same roof rack. Must be a popular combo
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:16 |

to be fair, it DOES look like a Colorado plate in the pictures.
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:16 |

It does

I'd just keep the 4 cylinder in there.
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:28 |
|
That is probably what I would do after I made a list of what I would need to do the swap.
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:29 |
|
LOL yep. I'd just be like "fuck it" in the end.
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:32 |

That is how all my car searches end. " Hi I am calling about a Focus ST with a rebuilt title for $6000. Oh it sold........Fuck it and fuck you!!!!" *Hangs up. I can't get any car. :(
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:35 |

Get an old RX-7!
![]() 07/23/2014 at 15:37 |

I know a guy who is selling one. 30000 miles for $4000.

'07 Mazdaspeed6. Works great at altitude (town is at 7,000 feet, the ski slope parking lot is at about 9,500 feet), but the tires are total shit in the snow. I'm on all-seasons, but winters for my tire size really aren't too much better. The Beetle's narrow tires cut into the snow and work like skis, making it incredibly controllable in the white stuff. Best winter car I've ever owned.

I can't afford it. I would love it. But I like pistons better than triangles.
